Spinach and Feta Chicken Burgers

Tender and juicy chicken burgers that have so much flavour and lots of healthy “hidden” ingredients. Whip them up quickly for a delicious weeknight dinner or BBQ cookout. These are low carb and gluten-free.

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 green onion diced
  • 1 small carrot grated
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder or 1 small clove minced
  • 1/4 tsp salt and pepper
  • 1/4 cup spinach finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup crumbled feta

For the basil pesto

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp pesto


  1. In a large bowl, add all of the ingredients for the chicken burgers, and mix thoroughly until everything is well combined.

  2. Form the burgers into four patties (about 1/2 inch thickness) and place each one on a piece of parchment paper and then on a plate.

  3. Cover and refrigerate until ready to cook.

  4. Preheat a frying pan (I prefer cast iron) on medium heat. Add 1 tbsp of avocado oil, and add the chicken burgers once it’s hot. Cook for 10-12 minutes until the burgers are nicely browned and have a slight crispiness on the outside.

  5. Serve on a bun with the pesto mayonnaise and some greens.

Recipe Notes

I love to also grill the chicken burgers in the summer. Cook for the same amount of time on the BBQ.
